At a scale of 1:450 TGauge is the smallest commercially available model railway in the WORLD! The "T" in TGauge comes from Three and refers to the pitch of the rails on the track, 3mm!
These fantastic models, manufactured by KK Eishindo of Japan are powered by 4.5Volt DC motors, and are fitted with magnetic wheels to improve power pickup and traction. Trains come in a variety of combinations from single power cars and rolling stock up to four car commuter sets featuring two power cars and two carriages. Most of the power cars, including our soon to be released HST InterCity 125, have working directional head/tail lights. The HST will feature a new and improved motor giving a smoother, quieter performance - even at slower speeds!
To get started in TGauge, we would recommend that you start with a Track Loop and Power Box Set (R-009 or R-010) and your choice of train from our Rolling Stock page. The control box included in the starter sets (also available as a separate item number E-007) can then be powered by using one of three power sources - (3x) AA batteries, or our mains adaptor (E-001) or a USB Power Cable (E-002). Once you have the basics to get started, you will be pleased to know that we have a comprehensive range of accessories and track sections to make your layout grow, everything from left and right hand points, 90° and 30° crossovers, four different radii of curves to short, medium and long straights.
