Hi All,
We've a few things to share with you this mid-summer but firstly this email is to give a news update on the Class 08 progress... we know you've all been frustrated by the delays beset on the build and its ever-changing release dates, and we thank you wholeheartedly for your patience during this time. However, when we tell you this next bit of news, we're sure you'll be glad you're still waiting.
For those of you who haven't ordered a Class 08 yet and aren't interested in reading further, we'll have a newsletter out soon featuring some new rolling stock, handy tools, latest developments and back-in-stock items.
As you are all aware due to pandemic related delays and our redesigns, the release of the Class 08 has been unavoidably delayed. What you may not be aware of is that during that time we've had a number of prototypes sitting around waiting for the next stage, and during occasional testing as the months ticked by, the performance was diminishing!
Obviously, we weren't 100% happy with that but couldn't put our finger on why... then we realised, thanks to the delays and these prototypes laying around we realised that the once shiny bronze wheels were tarnishing and weren't performing to their optimum as they did when they were first made.
To be honest we stressed over that for some time then after a fair bit of research we came up with the idea of mass nickel-plating a fairly large handful of gloomy looking T Gauge wheels which we are pleased to report now have a mirror-like finish and our test model is on target for clocking up over 200 hours of constant running time with only a few cleans of the track and wheels in between. To say we're pleased and a helluva lot more confident in sending them out to you is an understatement.
We're not going to put a date on it but what we ask of you who will receive them in the coming weeks is to be our test group. The build has cost a lot more than we anticipated and the price you have paid is knock down bargain basement for what is going to be a quality hand-built exclusive item in TGauge. So, sometime after you've received your loco we'll send a brief questionnaire by email for you to give us some constructive feedback and we'd really appreciate if you could take the time to respond to it.
If you've emailed us to request information on your order of the Class 08, please treat this newsletter as your response. The more emails we need to answer, the more it pulls us away from the build. We hope you understand. If you no longer wish to wait you can request a cancellation of your order with a full refund, we totally understand, just let us know.
Meantime we've perfected the packaging and it's looking rather special don't you think? We can't wait to get them out to you. Not long to go now.
Your exhausted and excited TGauge Team.
